I loved making the oysterwing butterfly painting so much I decided to keep iterating. With this series, I'm really drawn to the contrast between the soft, delicate nature of a butterfly and the hardened, resilient nature of a rugged seashell.

This painting makes me think of summer trips to Gross Morne — eating mussels at tiny restaurants tucked away, and walking around starry-eyed at the Insectarium.
